People living in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland who use specialist mobility and control equipment are being asked to share their views on the services that provide these items.

NHS commissioners are arranging new contracts for the service that provides wheelchairs, orthotics, and prosthetics as the current contract, held by Blatchford, expires in March 2018. We would like to hear from people who use the following specialist equipment:

  • Wheelchairs (manual and powered), specialist buggies and pressure relief cushions.
  • Orthotics devices, such as insoles and braces that support the body, encourage active lifestyles and reduce pain or pathological changes.
  • Prosthetics: limbs for amputees.

They want to know what people who use this service think about these services, what is important to them and what would make it better. We also want to hear from people who are interested in giving their views on this topic. They need to make sure the contract has everything in it to deliver a service that meets the needs of the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The consultation closes at midnight on 16th October 2017
