Leicester City Council’s Adult Social Care Portal can be found at: https://mysupportneeds.leicester.gov.uk/web/portal/pages/home
People using the portal will be asked some straightforward questions about their support or caring needs to find out if they are likely to be able to receive support from Adult Social Care. They will also be able to use the portal to work out how much that care may cost them.
Anyone using the portal will also benefit from being directed to a range of information and advice in relation to their specific needs – to help them to become or remain independent in their own homes. This will include being directed to an online directory of services (which can be found at https://mychoice.leicester.gov.uk/ ) and a range of local organisations, care service providers, community events; home support and advocacy support – all of which may help people meet their identified personal needs independently.
If a person is found to be likely eligible to receive support from Adult Social Care (which may be chargeable) they will be able to submit their details through the portal direct to Adult Social Care. Adult Social Care will then get in touch to discuss what happens next.
The website is easy to use, there’s no need to phone Adult Social Care, or wait in a queue, and it is accessible 24 hours a day. Remember – everyone can access the internet at many council libraries and also at some customer service centres.
