NHS England has published a set of proposals regarding the future commissioning of congenital heart disease (CHD) services for children and adults.
They describe plans to ensure a consistent standard of care for CHD patients, including the implementation of national service standards at every hospital that provides CHD services.
If the proposals are put in place it will mean that some hospitals will carry out more CHD surgery and catheter procedures, while others, which do not meet the relevant standards, will stop doing this work. NHS England is consulting patients and the public on these proposals, and the potential impact they may have. You can give your views through a range of face to face and online events.
